EASTSIDE VETERINARY CLINIC COVID-19 UPDATE – VETERINARY SERVICES ARE ESSENTIAL
Here at Eastside Veterinary Clinic we understand that the current COVID situation is causing heightened levels of stress and uncertainty for all of our clients.
We would like to reiterate that we are closely monitoring the situation as it unfolds and carefully adhering to the updated guidelines from the World Health Organisation, Australian Government and the Australian Veterinary Association to ensure that the risk of transmission in our clinic is as low as possible.
We are a small team of dedicated veterinary professionals, therefore if one of our team members becomes infected then we will likely all need to quarantine for 14 days minimum. This would sadly result in the closure of the clinic for this period of time.
In an effort to keep our team, the community and your pets safe and to continue providing a high level of veterinary care we ask that you read our most recent policy update prior to your next visit to the clinic.
Before any appointments, medication or food collections can be arranged our nurses will be asking a series of questions to ascertain your COVID-19 exposure risk:
- Are you suffering any cold or flu-like symptoms?
- Have you travelled interstate or overseas within the past 14 days?
- Have you been in contact with anybody that has travelled interstate or overseas within the past 14 days or has been quarantined?
It is important to note that we will not be turning clients away if any question is answered ‘YES’, but we will need to make suitable arrangements to ensure that our staff are protected from potential infection.
With a clear focus on social distancing, we are also trying to minimize the number of people inside our waiting room at any given time. We are asking that all clients phone the reception desk on arrival to ensure it is suitable to enter the clinic. We are also asking that only one person be in attendance to each appointment or medicine/food collection.
At this stage we are also unable to accept any cash payments. Payment via our mobile eftpos machine is still available.
We appreciate that this is a very difficult time, but please be patient with our staff because we are doing our best.
If you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to make contact with our friendly team during business hours on 8379 0222.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
